Don't ask! Just do your job Julia! "Gillard to ask the people on climate change" - ABC News

R602976_3935501
The ABC understands Ms Gillard will outline plans to set up a committee of scientists to advise the Government on climate change.

The committee will be paired with a citizens' assembly, consisting of 100-200 volunteers who will gauge feeling of the community on its attitude towards putting a price on carbon, and feed it back to the Government.

The policy launch comes two-and-a-half months after the Federal Government decided to shelve its emissions trading scheme.

This is all starting to sound very familiar!

Yet another committee. Yet more consultation.

I would like to think the tax I pay to the federal Government actually pays our governing politicians to "make decisions". Enough of this time-wasting, public funds wasting and masking the parliamentary policy process under a guise of community 'consultation'.

Yet another Ruddlike approach to governing this country by our current Prime Minister. The "punch and Julia" show just keeps on going.

"I adopt this perspective, that we adopt a position of leadership...the price of inaction is..." Gillard mentioned at her press conference. Well? Where is the action Julia? And, apparently, there will be flooding of all our low-lying land. I guess the policy will look at how best we can raise the level of the ground? "So what is required to meet this challenge?...Cut our pollution levels by 5% by 2020...this requires massive investment..." - I guess that just means more wasted tax-payer money!

"With hard work and consensus we can achieve..." - more committees, more wasted time. It was around this time that an unknown person ran into the press conference to try and disrupt proceedings. Seems to be the most action I've seen at a Labor function for some time ;)

Julia's response? She smiled, in fact, it looked like she was having trouble holding back the laughter! Telling, indeed.
