'Not one phone call': Nicole McCabe says she does not understand why the Government has not offered her help. (Reuters)

An Australian woman whose identity was used in the assassination of a top Hamas official says the Federal Government has not yet offered her any help.

Nicole McCabe, 27, said she had no idea how her identity was stolen, as she still had her Australian passport in her Tel Aviv apartment where she lives with her husband, Tsahi Look.

Ms McCabe is among three Australians, including Joshua Bruce and Adam Korman, who had their identities stolen and used in fake passports held by alleged assassins of senior Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.

The Australians, who all live in Israel, are among 26 people named as suspects by Dubai officials following Mr al-Mabhouh's murder in a Dubai hotel room last month.

Australian authorities have not yet contacted Ms McCabe over the revelations she is among those whose stolen identities were used.

"I don't understand why nobody has called me to offer help from the Government," Ms McCabe said.

"Nobody. Not one phone call.

"I'm surprised the embassy has not contacted me. I'm going to call them tomorrow to ask for help."

Ms McCabe, who is six months pregnant, says she is terrified because of the identity theft.

"I'm terrified. I haven't slept and I'm shaky," she said.

"I'm worried for my health and I'm worried for my baby's health.

"I have no idea how they got hold of my passport. Obviously it's not my photo."

Obviously, like the four electricians who lost their lives, this is of the 'deepest concern' to our Government, our country and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd!

Check out the transcript or audio of the PM on ABC AM radio recently....he said it was the deepest concern...but Ms McCabe obviously wasn't listening!

The Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says it is of the deepest concern to Australia if stolen or forged passports had been used by a state in an assassination and the Government wouldn't let the matter rest. Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has called in the Israeli ambassador to discuss the matter.
