MOTOR Sport is one of those pursuits that is on the wish list of many, but out of reach for the vast majority.

It's expensive, dangerous and seriously time consuming.
However, an ultra-realistic PC simulation called iRacing promises to chop out much of the expense and all of the danger to leave just the time-consuming bit.
The software came about when US multi-millionaire John Henry, a fan of racing simulations, decided he wanted the real thing on his PC. A year ago Henry launched iRacing, a browser-based motor racing simulation so good some of the world's top professional drivers are now using it as a training tool.
To get started there are three things you will need -- an internet connection, a force feedback steering wheel and pedal set which can be bought from a computer gaming store for as little as $100, and a credit card.
The model is simple: drivers sign on for either a monthly or yearly subscription and are given a handful of tracks and two "rookie" cars, an American Solstice sports car and a funky "Legends Oval" racer.
Gotta love gaming and in particular motor-sport gaming. This is lots of fun, at least I think so!
