Me and my profession

As a qualified educator, and educator of the educators, I am a communications expert; understanding how and why information delivery works and doesn't work. I have experience with technology and consider myself an information-futurist. I am a dreamer!

Now, enough of that wank and onto some more...I have been a teacher of modern English and literature, taught people the skills of learning, teaching and communicating. A can look at big and little pictures and advise on getting from point A to point B. I can read maps!

I am an excellent facilitator, negotiator and have, on many occasions in the past, presented to small and large groups alike. I am a talker!

My experience in commercial enterprise has helped me take a leap from the structure and politic of government back into the real world. I am a thinker!

But I am a teacher; was a teacher of skills and knowledge, and now, like most of us, just a teacher.

Are these these the 'beginning of sorrows'?

If you have never heard of that phrase before then you must have missed that Sunday School session. Not that I ever went, I am neither Christian nor subscibe to Catholicism or any of those clubs. But, it is one of those phrases often referred too from the New Testament (Book of Matthew) that is often related to the current period of time.

Pestilence, famine, earthquakes...its all there...and whatever you may think, it is interesting to take a look at this particular book (as a book of course - lets not get carried away here!)

So are these times the beginnings of sorrows? Its an interesting thesis. Later I will add more to what I personally think...for now, Google the phrase, check your Gideon's copy or just have a think and let me know what you think.

You can still discriminate against me!

Gay rights advocates criticise new discrimination laws

Under the changes, religious groups will no longer be able to discriminate on the grounds of race, disability, age, physical features, political belief or breastfeeding.

But they can continue to discriminate on grounds including sexuality or marital status if it is in accordance with their beliefs.

You may think its just more 'poofs' having a whinge about 'rights' again. You may think about things like 'Mardis Gras' in Sydney and imagine, its just more 'flaming fags' complaining again. You may even think of such nasty things as 'paedophiles' when you are faced with Gay.

I am not a gay rights whinger.

I am not a flaming poof who does 'Mardis Gras'.

I am certainly not a paedophile (we tend to leave that to the hetrosexual-criminals on the most part!!!!)

But I am gay.

Not a lefty. Not a greeny. Not a socialist. And no, despite what some might think, I am not 'flaming' (you think I am? you need to get out more and see what true 'flaming' really is about!!!)

I am conservative. I am in a long term relationship (14 years). I wear a tie to work. I believe in 'family'!

But I am gay. And I am constantly amazed that, for this one thing, I am still legally allowed to be discriminated against in this country (Australia).

Doesn't seem right to me. But I will respect law, so feel free, take your best shot.

Really, what good uses can you get from your child?

 
American evangelical movement takes it to the kids! Amazing what they come up with next.
Then again, what else are children useful for?? I mean really!
